This print was created in March 2024 to accompany Scarfff issue 18, and "birds" was the theme. I drew inspiration from watching the cherubic chickadees that playfully flit from branch to branch in the trees outside my studio window. This is a two-color risograph, with my drawing on a single black layer, and the green for the leaves created using torn paper, that was scanned and then converted to a bitmap to apply a screentone texture.
Two color risograph, January 2024, created, using two separate hand-drawn layers that were then scanned and prepped for printing using Adobe Photoshop. This print accompanied Scarfff issue 17, for which  "the multiverse" was the theme, which inspired me to create this Schrodinger's cat image.
Two color risograph, September 2023, illustrated using Procreate and then prepped for printing using Adobe Photoshop. This print accompanied Scarfff issue 13, the theme of this issue was "Arnold Schwarzenegger." When creating this image I was interested in playing with the margins of the print constraining Arnold's substantial bulk.
Two color risograph, October 2021, illustrated using Procreate and then prepped for printing using Adobe Photoshop. This print accompanied Scarfff issue 8, which had "vampires," as its theme. I wanted to amp up the intensity, so I looked to horror movie posters and German expressionist woodcuts for inspiration. I also wanted to create a sense of visual depth by utilizing the strong contrast of white, black, and red.
Two color risograph, January 2023, illustrated using Procreate and then prepped for printing using Adobe Photoshop. This print accompanied issue 13 of Scarfff Comics Newspaper, which had the theme "the police." I drew on the style of German Expressionist woodcuts to create the visual tone I was trying to achieve. To accomplish this I work in a reductive fashion in Procreate by laying down a layer of solid color for each color layer and then erasing portions to create the final image.
