Layout, Design, and Art Directorial Contributions: Scarfff was a quarterly comics anthology printed in tabloid format and based in Seattle. As a co-founder, Editor-in-Chief, and contributor, I have been involved in myriad aspects of the project, from producing original content, collating and editing art from other contributors, as well as laying out and prepping each issue for print, along with the majority of the logistical and management side, such as planning promotional events, advancement, social media, and marketing. I also created and facilitated the creation of collateral items such as risograph art prints, stickers, banners, etc., as well as the Scarfff website. From its launch in January 2020, Scarfff released 20 issues, growing from a venue to showcase the work of myself and five like-minded cartoonist friends to something much larger. Each issue contained comics and illustrations from over twenty artists. In 2022, Scarfff received fiscal sponsorship from Shunpike, along with two grants totaling $5,000, one from ArtsWA and the other from the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture. With the support of over one hundred Patreon subscribers, Scarfff was able to thrive until the project was concluded in April of 2024. Scarfff reached twenty stores and distributors across the United States, Canada, and Australia.
Scarfff Risograph Prints: A limited run of art prints was produced to accompany each issue of Scarfff. My co-creators and I took turns producing illustrations. At the same time, I prepped the art for printing and coordinated production with local, craft-centered printers to ensure the print is ready on time for the upcoming issue of Scarfff. For the prints pictured, I created all of the art.

Comics and Illustrations I created for Scarfff Comics Newspaper: I created at least two full pages of material for each issue of Scarfff. Scarfff was a wonderful venue to explore underground comics. Over the course of the project, I was able to refine my style and approach to visual storytelling, while learning new techniques and expanding my network of fellow creatives. Of the forty-five (plus) pages of comics and illustrations I created for Scarfff the pieces in this section represent my strongest work. In the experimental vein of Scarfff and underground comix in general, each piece highlights a different approach to visual storytelling.
scarfff.com is still live and was entirely created by me.
